Schönhofer Sales and Engineering GmbH (SSE) was founded in 1983 by Xaver Schönhofer. The company has been based in Siegburg, in the heart of the Rhineland, ever since. Due to its expertise in RF systems engineering and data analytics software, SSE was acquired by Rohde & Schwarz in 2022.
The merger has driven the company’s growth, both in terms of headcount and economic development.
SSE develops and delivers solutions in two core areas:
- Software for analysis and command capability
- Turnkey system solutions for security-critical domains

A team of more than 200 employees works at SSE. 80% of them hold vocational training and/or a university degree in fields such as electrical engineering, RF engineering, computer science and physics. In a collaborative environment, expertise, drive for innovation and strong execution come together to deliver tailored solutions for the challenges of our time.
